Head of Marketing
At Timefold, we are building the intelligent scheduling optimization platform for software developers in workforce management. We empower IT teams to build robust, trustworthy, and performant workforce scheduling systems that handle real-world complexity at scale.
Our customers are product and engineering leaders who own scheduling optimization integrated in software products or internal platforms.
We are hiring a Head of Marketing to build and lead the execution engine that turns our GTM strategy into pipeline, presence, and momentum.
The Role
As Head of Marketing, you are the operational and people leader of the marketing function. You will help author, pressure-test, and operationalize the broader GTM strategy into marketing programs and projects for the team to roll-out and execute.
This is a strategy-executing role that demands strong leadership, rigorous project management, and deep marketing expertise. You will manage a growing team, own the operational rhythm of the function, and be accountable for the quality and performance of everything marketing produces and ships.
You will work in close partnership with the co-founders and the broader GTM team who collaboratively own authority over positioning, messaging, brand, and GTM direction.
Your job is to take that strategic framework and translate it into campaigns, assets, content, and sales enablement on a high-pace and with high-standards.
Your Core Responsibilities
Lead and Develop the Marketing Team
You are responsible for the performance, structure, and growth of the marketing function:
Directly manage the domain owners (content, growth, video) setting clear expectations, deliverables, and accountability for each role
Run and govern the marketing syncs and their cadences, creating structured feedback loops across campaign performance, content progress, and messaging observations from the sales cycle
Identify skill gaps within the team and build a learning culture that keeps everyone sharp and current
Onboard new team members and external agencies or freelancers with the same rigor you apply to campaigns
Partner with the broader GTM team on resourcing decisions and hiring priorities
Own Marketing Operations End to End
You are the owner of all marketing operations. You will:
Receive high-level direction alongside GTM leadership and translate it into structured briefs with assigned ownership, timelines, and KPIs
Oversee growth marketing channels, budgets, content needs, duration, and performance reporting
Oversee content strategy and production such as content pillars, calendar, asset creation, distribution, and performance analysis
Ensure every program, project, or campaign has a documented plan, a named owner, and a clear reporting cadence
Audit marketing initiatives regularly and flag underperformance or strategic misalignment
Drive Content and Asset Quality
You are accountable for the quality and timeliness of everything marketing produces. You will:
Guide the management and execution of the content calendar, in alignment with the brand and narrative frameworks
Own copywriting for key assets website pages, boilerplates, sales spiels, elevator pitches, and pitch decks
Oversee and approve scripts, landing page copy, social content, blog copy, and design execution
Ensure all assets are coherent with the messaging framework; escalate deviations for strategic review
Conceptualize video content series and delegate production, scripting, distribution, and logistics to the content and video leads
Bridge Marketing and the Sales Cycle
You keep marketing tightly connected to what is actually happening in sales. You will:
Immerse deeply into the market, prospect and customer journey to observe messaging in action and bring those insights and observations back to the team
Coordinate with sales and solutions to ensure marketing materials are current, organized, and actively used
Oversee production and maintenance of the commercial website, sales enablement assets, core decks, explainer videos, visuals, event collaterals etc.
Surface positioning and messaging misalignment observed in the field to the GTM team, and implement corrections once strategic direction is confirmed
Manage the Marketing Budget
You are operationally responsible for how the marketing budget is tracked and spent. You will:
Maintain a clear briefing and approval process for new campaigns and projects, with documented objectives, KPIs, and budget rationale
Report on campaign ROI and ensure resources are deployed where they generate the most impact
Flag budget risks or reallocation needs to leadership in a timely manner
Deliver a quarterly State of Marketing to leadership with results, analysis, and forward recommendations
Keep the Function Running with Discipline
You own the operating rhythm that makes the team reliable and visible:
Chair the weekly marketing sync and ensure meeting notes, next steps, and deliverables are captured and actioned
Maintain project management tooling as the system of record for all marketing work
Prepare bi-monthly status updates for the leadership meeting, covering progress, risks, and cross-functional dependencies
Translate team updates into leadership-ready summaries that connect marketing activity to GTM and business goals
You Might Be a Fit If
You have 7+ years in B2B marketing, with meaningful experience inside scaling technology companies ideally developer tools, SaaS, or enterprise software.
You have led a marketing team before and know how to build a culture of high ownership and high output within it.
You run tight projects that have clear briefs, defined deliverables, documented processes, and consistent follow-through.
You are a skilled copywriter and marketing craftsperson who can produce excellent work yourself and raise the bar for everyone around you.
You are comfortable and effective operating within a fast-paced, startup environment.
You thrive at the intersection of people management, project management, and marketing execution.
